Young Adult Book Excerpts Only
January 28, 2008 7:24 AM

Young Adult Book Excerpts Only is a group dedicated to young readers where they can find snips/excerpts from their favorite authors. At YABEO, readers can explore the excerpts to find new author or find out what books are about, and where to find them either in book stores or on the net, and discover books they might not have explored. This group would be great for other reading groups to find books for their members to read and perhaps include in their reading lists.

Our group is strictly member only and is moderated 24/7 by dedicated readers/authors, and will not accept objectionable posts.  We have special events where authors will come and discuss their books and stories. Our aim is to give young readers a place where they can find great books. We welcome all young adult/teen authors and readers to join and experience the exciting world of books.

We really appreciate your help in getting the word out about our group. If you should have any questions, please email me at anytime.

Our group can be found at:  http://groups.yahoo.com/group/youngadultbookexcerptsonly/

Powhatan County Eclectic Readers Group
December 29, 2006 3:25 PM

We just read Bastard Out of Carolina by Dorothy Allison—not a book for the faint of heart—a harrowing story—especially when you know it is based on the author’s own childhood, but it is a wonderfully well written book and makes for a great discussion.  Our October selection Nightman by James Pendleton and Jerome Johnson.  The group is open to the public and meets on the second Tuesday of the month at the Powhatan Library at 10:00 am.  Contact janeccarr@aol.com for more information.
