We just read Bastard Out of Carolina by Dorothy Allison—not a book for the faint of heart—a harrowing story—especially when you know it is based on the author’s own childhood, but it is a wonderfully well written book and makes for a great discussion. Our October selection Nightman by James Pendleton and Jerome Johnson. The group is open to the public and meets on the second Tuesday of the month at the Powhatan Library at 10:00 am.
